Church

So my boyfriend and i have been best friends for quite a while now and i keep asking him to come to church. But, the answer is always no. My question is, whats so bad about one church service? You don't have to sign your life away just because you came to one service. I've personally been going to church since i was born and have no problem with it. I will admit sometimes it is awfully difficult to get myself up in the morning but i enjoy spending time with my family (most of the time). Plus i would imagine he would like to spend as much time with me as he could on weekends when we don't see each other that often, even if it meant having to go to church before lunch for once. He says it's "not his thing" which i understand. He's a teenage boy. They're like that.
Onto another subject. What are your beliefs in religion? Do you believe in heaven and hell? In my days full of thinking i've focused on this subject in more depth then some other topics. The understood uncertainty humanity has over the "afterlife" and what this place really is haunts me everyday. The more i think about it, the harder it is to just go through life without a care. On the other hand, though, being unsure of this life could be your key to letting go of your boundaries and worries. This, too, could be a problem. I try to imagine a society, a world, where every one is worry and care free. I imagine everyone has been lightin up, for example, and have no sense of responsibility, or duty, or any other compelling feeling but love and compassion. How would we function? The jobs would never get done cutting off trade, communication, modern medicine, agriculture, and any other tool necessary for civilization. This is no doubt dramatized but still, the point i was trying to make is our culture thrives off it's need for order but the natural laws of life and sanity as they apply in our overcrowded, debted, and falling society make it impossible to keep this vision of Utopia.
This is it for today. More life thinking soon. Stay childish.
